This past Christmas, EBS Sounds embraced the holiday spirit in a truly meaningful way—through music and charity. As the student-led music initiative of EBS Universität, we not only aimed to boost morale within our community but also to give back to those in need. Our charity Christmas concerts brought joy to audiences across Oestrich-Winkel, uniting students, faculty, and local residents in celebration of the season.

A Musical Journey Through Oestrich-Winkel
Our journey began with a heartfelt performance at St. Martin Church in Oestrich-Winkel, a place of gathering and reflection for the community. The historic church provided the perfect setting for our repertoire of Christmas classics and contemporary holiday songs. The warmth and appreciation from the audience reminded us of the power of music to bring people together.
Next, we visited Haus Wilhelmine, an elderly home in Eltville, where we performed for its residents. Seeing the smiles on their faces as they sang along to familiar tunes was an unforgettable experience. Music has the ability to evoke cherished memories, and it was incredibly moving to witness how our songs rekindled joy and nostalgia among the residents.
Finally, we concluded our Christmas tour with a performance at the EBS Christmas Market, where students and faculty gathered to celebrate the festive season. The atmosphere was filled with holiday cheer, and our music added to the lively spirit of the market. It was a wonderful way to wrap up our series of performances while bringing together the EBS and Oestrich-Winkel communities.
Giving Back: Supporting Local and Global Causes
Beyond our musical contributions, we also wanted to make a tangible impact through charitable donations. With the funds raised, we donated €250 to the children’s hospice in Wiesbaden, supporting families and children in need of care and comfort. Additionally, we contributed €250 to a project for seamstresses in India, an initiative established by St. Martin Church in Oestrich-Winkel. This project empowers women by providing them with the means to develop their skills and secure sustainable livelihoods.

The Spirit of EBS Sounds
At EBS Sounds, we believe that music is more than just entertainment—it is a source to do good and support those in need. This Christmas, we were reminded that small acts of kindness, whether through song or charitable giving, can create ripples of positivity. We are incredibly grateful for the support of our university and the Oestrich-Winkel community, and we look forward to continuing our mission of spreading joy through music in the years to come.
As we step into a new year, we hope to build on this tradition, creating more opportunities to give back and share our passion for music. Thank you to everyone who joined us, sang along, and supported our cause. Let’s keep the spirit of giving alive all year round!
